Barsecco is still a relatively new Brickell spot after replacing Segafredo in 2018, but it has quickly become a neighborhood staple.

You’ve probably seen their iconic neon signs all over instagram, including the famous “I’ve snorted, smoked, and fuk’d everything Miami has to offer.”

Designed by the masterminds behind Bodega and KiKi on the River, this farmhouse-glam restaurant feels like it came straight out of a fairytale. Glitzy chandeliers draped with vines illuminate the bar, and the enchanted forest vibe is complete with a TREE in the middle of the restaurant!

The outdoor patio has a casual “pull up a chair” vibe that’s great for seating big groups at brunch or happy hour and even making new friends. Their full DJ setup makes Barsecco the perfect venue for a good time, whether it’s a hump-day happy hour, Saturday night on the town or even a Sunday puppy brunch!

Appetizers

I LOVED the serrano croquettes! They are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, and they come with 2 dipping sauces. The sriracha aioli is a natural flavor match, while the mixed berry preserves are a little more adventurous but I loved the unexpected combination of flavors.

If you’re trying to stay healthy, the avocado salad is also a great choice! Sometimes arugula can be bitter, but this arugula tasted sweet and fresh. The salad is garnished with orange slices and has hidden tomatoes underneath!

Main Course

We couldn’t decide what to order for our entrees between the clam fettuccine, wild Atlantic salmon, and the NY strip steak - those are all personal favorites! But since we had steak at Barsecco for Miami Spice last year (and it was delicious!) we wanted to try the other two.

The clam pasta actually competes with my parents’ recipe (and I don’t say that often). The fettuccine is cooked to perfection—not too al dente—and flavored with the tasty clam sauce. They even give a spoon for twirling (shoutout to the Italians reading this)! And look at all the clams you get! I love playing with my food so anything I get to twirl and pick up with my hands is the perfect meal for me.

The salmon dish had a beautiful presentation. It comes on a bed of spaghetti squash and fingerling potatoes. Smeared across the plate is Calabrian chili agri dolce, a sweet and tangy sauce. Try it on the potatoes! Last but not least, the salmon is so juicy and tender. I’ve never seen salmon so pink!

WILD ATLANTIC SALMON: pan roasted fingerling potatoes, sauteed squash & zucchini strings, calabrian chili agri dolce

Dessert

We ended our dinner with tiramisu and a mojito — not a classic combo, but we couldn’t resist when we saw the mojito has real sugar cane! Tiramisu comes from the Italian phrase meaning “pick me up” or “cheer me up,” presumably because coffee is a main ingredient. It was so light and the perfect ending to our Miami Spice meal.
