It’s the most wonderful time of the year - and we don’t mean Christmas time. The year’s most anticipated week, ART BASEL 2019 is here (totally better than music week if you ask me).

But although the influx of art-hungry visitors helps our city thrive in so many ways, there's one major downfall: UBER SURCHARGES. Zip through Art Week 2019 at these 7 events all within a scooter ride from Brickell.

1. Street Photography Festival

​The Miami Street Photography Festival showcases the  largest street photography exhibitions in the world. Seven exhibits and almost two hundred prints will be on display during Art Basel Week
and throughout the month of December and January at HistoryMiami Museum in downtown Miami

2. The CONTEXT Art Miami Pavilion

Context Art Miami is the sister fair to Art Miami dedicated to the development and reinforcement of emerging and mid-career artists.

​Launched in 2012, CONTEXT Art Miami's open atmosphere creates a meaningful dialogue between artists, galleries and collectors while providing the ultimate platform for the presentation of mid-career, emergent and cutting-edge talent by emerging and established galleries. Ninety-five international galleries, vetted by the CONTEXT Art Miami Selection Committee, exhibit highlights from their gallery programs, solo artist exhibitions and curated projects.

The combined efforts of CONTEXT Art Miami and Art Miami provide a unique and alternative opportunity for leading primary dealers and their artists to be marketed and promoted internationally during the most important week for contemporary art in America.

3. Miami River Art Fair

The 8th edition of the Miami River Art Fair, an international, contemporary art fair, will take place at the Downtown Miami Convention Center inside the James L. Knight International Center.
This art fair was conceived as a showcase of world-class galleries, artists and projects in an indoor booth setting at the Riverfront Hall. This grand show space overlooks the one-of-a-kind outdoor Riverwalk Sculpture Mall that will feature monumental sculpture on the banks of the historic Miami River.

4. New Art Dealers Alliance Presents: NADA Miami

The 17th edition of NADA Miami, to be held December 5–8, 2019 at Ice Palace Studios, is dedicated to showcasing new art and to celebrating the rising talents from around the globe.
NADA holds a renowned art fair to vigorously pursue our goals of exploring new or underexposed art that is not typical of the “art establishment.” NADA Miami is the one of the only major American art fairs to be produced by a non-profit organization, and is recognized as a much needed alternative assembly of the world’s youngest and strongest art galleries dealing with contemporary art.

5. Prizm

Prizm is the producer of a cutting-edge platform that is multidisciplinary in scope.  Our goal is to expand the spectrum of exhibiting international artists from Africa, the African diaspora and emerging markets, who reflect global trends in contemporary art.

Additionally, Prizm features works by emerging Miami-based artists. These artists redefine their world and bring into focus socio-political and cultural issues pertinent to the people of African descent in Miami and around the world.  The select artists are actively engaged in perpetuating Miami’s growth as a cultural hub.

6. ​Dimensions Experience Pop-Up

8 pm - 4 am 

DIMENSIONS: an exploration of the artists’ perception of reality where the construct of space and time has been lifted. Revealing a non-linear reality where the past and future are experienced in the present.

This iteration of DIMENSIONS will be materialized in an abandoned department store in Downtown Miami during Art Basel. Over 50 artists, musicians, and creatives from all around the world are joining forces to activate more than 50,000 square feet of reimagined forgotten space. Expect interactive installations, live performances, reality-bending activations, and other multisensory experiences that will challenge your current perception of the world around you.

7. Mana Contemporary Miami

The artists of Mana Contemporary Miami open their studios to visitors, with self-directed programming and events. Daily performances and activations include a live podcast with Orchid.FM, DJ sets at the Dale Zine window, and after-parties hosted by the community with local and international guests.
